Rugby
Just as in a professional business atmosphere, it takes more than an individual to get a project done. Rather it takes a culmination of effort from the whole team. Since I began playing rugby my freshman year in high school, nothing has done more to instill in me the importance of working as a team member. The qualities I acquired through teamwork has improved the execution of my personal skills tenfold.
In 2016, i retired from playing rugby and moved into a full-time official role. I have since become certified as a Level 1 and Level 2 World Rugby referee and have been working as an official for the newly founded, Major League Rugby. Refereeing has given me a greater appreciation of the sport and has opened several new doors for growth within it. You can view my match reports on My Rugby Journal!
Along with the skills I've learned, I have been fortunate enough to receive several accolades and achievements in my rugby career that have helped me to become more team oriented and a better leader.

LSU: Eye on a tiger
The "Eye on a Tiger" video series provides a behind-the-scenes look at the outstanding students, faculty, staff and alumni who make LSU great. I was selected to participate in the second feature of the series where they covered my everyday habits, classes, hobbies and rugby.
The emphasis of the video focused on my overall achievements during my collegiate career at LSU including my Dean's List and Chancellor's Honor Roll awards. The rugby match featured the team and myself as we faced off against Auburn in an SEC showdown.
Being honored in such a way by my university reassures me that i'm doing the right thing. It also gave me a greater appreciation for the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at LSU including the public relations, marketing, photography and promotions departments. Special thanks to LSU's Damian Foley, who created and filmed the episode.

Service Learning Project
I worked with other students on a class project in our 2012 Media Law class. The project involved making weekly visits to Southeast Middle School to speak with students about topics involving social interaction online and with others. After the weekly visits, our group made a presentation to teach the students about Incitement of Imminent Lawless Action.
The purpose of this assignment was for my group and I to clearly and understandably transfer challenging points of U.S. law into statements that middle school students would be able to comprehend. Doing this required us to be brief and accurate in our communication. As part of the project, our group created different technological components such as a website and PowerPoint that were tailored to a middle school comprehension level.

- Our group created a website detailing all of our information from the class presentation into an online format to make learning the law much easier. This includes case studies, definitions on points of law and quiz sheets for children to test their knowledge.
- We created a Powerpoint presentation to create a simple guide to key components of the law and present the students with older case studies that examine the law in action.
- Lastly, we recorded our class presentation then published it to Youtube and our web site so it was easily accesible to anyone seeking information on Incitement of Imminent Lawless Action.
